The pace here is unhurried, with a simple, welcoming vibe that invites you to slow down and soak in the comfort of genuine, home-style cooking paired with easygoing Southern hospitality.

The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious—a clean, practically furnished space where the focus is on good food and familiar faces rather than fancy frills. Whether you choose to linger at the table or pick up a meal to take home, the sense of community comes through in the friendly interactions with staff and the steady hum of conversation around you. It’s the sort of place where you might catch laughter between locals sharing stories or find yourself returning the next day simply because the food reminds you of home.

At Campton, the menu unfolds like a warm invitation to explore Southern classics and comforting plates that speak to both tradition and generosity. From crispy fried chicken that has consistently earned quiet praise to grilled salmon and tender pork chops, each dish lands with familiar flavors crafted to satisfy rather than dazzle. Sides like collard greens and onion rings weave into the meal as supportive companions, adding texture and heartiness without overshadowing the main event. And for those with room left for something sweet, the pecan pie or caramel cream cheese lemon meringue offer a quiet but memorable finish.

This is a restaurant where the experience is rooted in tradition and consistency—a reliable stop that offers more than just a meal. It’s about those shared moments over simple food, the feel of a welcoming place in a casual community setting, and the warmth that comes from knowing you can return and find the same comforting flavors and genuine service time and again.

Traveling to the Monroe area this was our first trip to Campton Restaurant. It was absolutely awesome! Food was delicious and generous portions. Fair prices. Great service. I had some of the best fried chicken I had ever eaten! We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is easy to find and offers parking in the back of the building. Meals can be eaten in the restaurant or ordered inside for takeout. The restaurant is clean and practically furnished with lots of advertising on the tables and menus. Table service today was a bit slow, but all of the employees were friendly. The hushpuppies and slaw were not great, but the fried catfish, fried shrimp, and caramel pie were just delicious. Campton serves quite a variety of selections, from sandwiches to daily specials, steaks, barbecue, and seafood. Pricing was fair. For diners who love novelties, the restaurant sells a "Straight Outta Campton" tee shirt.

Restaurant was busy on the Saturday night that we were there, but it was worth the wait!!! Good country comfort food in a no frills environment. Prices were great!

The food was very good. My family had the country fried steak, salmon, pork chops, chicken and it was all delicious; even the green beans. Also, the best sweet tea I have ever had! My son wanted to go back the next day! Lol..Will be back again to try many more things from the menu.

We visited 1st time today. It wasn't too busy when we arrived. When we were leaving, it was busier. Very friendly & nice service staff. Food good & desserts pretty awesome too!!! Prices fair for what you are served. Sweet tea was cold & sweet to perfection!. We will be back very soon, and we all loved what we ordered.
